Rounding Third and Heading for Metro

March 13, 2025

No city celebrates Opening Day quite like Cincinnati! To mark the occasion, Metro is excited to offer safe and reliable transportation with fare-free rides on Opening Day, Thursday, March 27. Metro’s fixed routes and Access paratransit will be free of charge.

“Metro has been transporting fans to the ballpark since the days of the Big Red Machine,” said Brandy Jones, Metro’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. “With our recent service expansions, we’re offering even more ways for people across the region to connect and support the Reds throughout the 2025 season.”

Opening Day Parade Metro Detours

The 2025 Findlay Market Reds Opening Day Parade steps off at noon on Thursday, March 27, and will result in the temporary closure of Government Square and other Downtown stops throughout the morning and early afternoon. Please check http://www.go-metro.com/service-detours for which routes will be impacted or contact the Metro Customer Care Center at 513-632-7575 for questions.

Detours will lift soon after the parade concludes. Metro’s detour blog provides alternative boarding locations and up-to-date detour information. Customers are encouraged to sign up for Cincy EZAlerts to receive text and/or email notifications with real-time detour and delay information.

Be sure to look for “Evie” Metro’s mascot in the parade!
